I was born and brought up in Cropwell Bishop and, student years aside, have lived here all my life. My ties here are very strong and my children can claim to be at least the seventh generation to live here! My father and grandfather both served on the Parish Council, so I am carrying on something of a family tradition. I have previously served the village as a school governor and for the last decade, together with the Rev. Gamble, I have maintained the parish records of burials and a comprehensive survey of the St. Giles Churchyard.
My professional background is in law, and I worked as a solicitor specialising in criminal law for twenty-eight years. For the last twenty years I was a lawyer in the Crown Prosecution Service and have headed various departments and initiatives. I was also a Higher Court Advocate and an experienced police trainer.
In 2013 I chose to retire in the interests of a healthy work/life balance and now work as a director of a fine art company and pursue various other interests.
I have three busy teenage children and a supportive husband.
I am keen to contribute to the governance and future of this delightful village and to enhance the amenities for all those who live and work here.
